Lets face it, there are not very many good game apps on the Iphone that are not just simple card or puzzle games. So when I heard about this game, I became genuinely interested. I downloaded it the day it came out, and prepared myself for a night of fun, and then I heard the writing. The story is the most generic piece of literature you have ever heard. Its about a man who has some unexplained power and uses a machine to trap ghosts with the help of a nutty professor. Yeah. And if the boring story wasnt bad enough, this game has some cringe worthy dialog. I can forgive giving the first ghost you see the name casper, and even the main character saying "cant we all just get along?" when being beaten by the police, but I almost broke my Iphone when I heard a cop say "you have the right to an attorney, but not for barn burners." This game isnt all bad, the sound design is great for a app, but unless you have watch the movies ghost busters and back to the future over 500 times each, and wanted to see what they would be like if someone combined them together and took out half of the fun, then stay away from Soul Trapper.

I had my doubts, but as I played along and allowed myself to become immersed within the story I couldnt stop playing! The acting isnt the greatest nor does this affect the gameplay whatsoever. You assume the role as the hero and you are taken on an adventure throughout his world as a ghost hunter. Things get more complex as the game progresses and youll find yourself doing tasks that utilize the touch screen. Trust me. This is not as easy as it sounds as it requires you to really pay attention in direction of the sound but also some memorized patterns. The puzzles really add a new dynamic to the story telling and it is with this fluid combination I see why this fame is rather addictve. My nephew LOVES this game and Im eagered to see more developed in this nature. My only gripe is that sometimes when I hit the home key Im forced to start way back then where I left off. It needs better save management. Also, the artwork us nice buy it could be better :) all in all, thumbs up! Well worth the intoductuary price.

This game is awesome. The story, voice acting, and sound is excellent and the game is really something fun and unique. But if the devs want a 5-star rating, they absolutely NEED to implement a better save function. As it stands, the game only saves at the end of a chapter. Sorry, but life doesnt stop for your game. On three separate occasions, Ive made it about 90% through a chapter, only to lose all of my progress due to an ill-timed call. This inconvenience was only made more frustrating by the fact that every time I tried to replay that chapter, the game kept crashing mid-chapter. Give us the chance to save our progress and a crash would be forgivable. But instead, I had to play chapter 2 LITERALLY no less than 8 times to finally make it to chapter 3. Thats unnacceptable. A simple autosave (or at least savestate) option would remedy this. I will admit that the fact that I replayed chapter 2 seven times is testament to how fun this game is, but seriously, the save system used now is just archaic and lazy. Other than that, this is an excellent, unique game. However, prospective buyers may want to hold off until the devs implement a better save system, lest you subject yourself to some horrible frustration.

The game is awesome!!!! i <3 it!!!! Its very interactive & fun!!! Just as other people have said a save feature would be nice... Even though i see how it would be hard with the talking... & i dunno if other people have this glitch... But sometimes when i play and just move my ipod it crashes... But it is a very fun game!!! I totally recommend it~~~!!!! ;)

Soul Trapper Ep. 1 exceeded my expectations. As a fan of the adventure genre, but having scant experience with audio adventures, I went in with high hopes having heard good things from gamers with similar tastes as mine. I was not disappointed. What starts out as a routine ghost hunting situation with a "cliche" protagonist with a devil may care attitude and chip on his shoulder turns into a very well rounded story of tragic love, and, in fact, loss of family with supernatural overtones and a bits of good humor to boot. Mind you, I bought the game at full price and then was dismayed to learn that only hours later the price had been dropped during the limited time sale a while back. But after I played the game I was taken aback at how well written the story was, how well implemented the gameplay inputs were, and how much I looked forward to coming episodes in the series (and I do hope there are more coming - if you are reading this and are on the fence, BUY THIS APP NOW!). I dont even mind having paid full price for the app. Does it have replay value? Not much, as all adventure games are lacking. If youve played recent adventure games like Shenmue, Indigo Prophecy, the Sam & Max series and Phoenix Wright you know that once played these games have little to go back to gameplay wise...but as concerns experience they are second to none. These games are like good books or movies: you dont read or watch them all the time, but you keep them in your collection because they are so enjoyable you know youll read them again at some point. I rank Soul Trapper right along with those adventure game offerings, and IMHO it is one of the must haves on this platform. Looking forward to the next episode.

It was incredible. My favorite iPhone game. The ending was tragic. I hope they make a second one to continue the story

This has a well told story and the interactive elements can be challenging (in a good way) and fun. One of the best app games Ive played if not the best.

Sold trapper is an amazing, fabulous and wonderful audio adventure. Cross choose your own adventure books with some of the best audio drama production Ive heard in a while, and throw in a killer story line. The only thing that would make this game better is if the developer would label the buttons that are in the game so that voice over could access them. Still, I am totally blind, and I managed to get through the entire game. It took some trial and error, but I made it. It would just be simpler if the developers would label all the buttons in the game for voice over. Perhaps in the next version. ..

Im not even done and its great. The only things that could be done better is if chapters didnt have to be restarted on resume, and voice over support. Overall, amazing.

Needless to say, I was absolutely amazed by the preview of this game. The sounds were fantastic, the voice acting was professional, and the music was outstanding. Therefore, I didnt have any qualms about downloading it onto my device. Fantastic job!

This game is the most wonderful game that I have ever played. The voice acting is much better than other audio games Ive tried. But what really stood out was the story that is riviting with suspense, both phisical and emotional. It was moving, and gripping, and the charicters, setings, and plot had a lot of deapth not usually found, especially in the charicters and there stories and what happens to them. I agree, it was WAY to short, eager look forward to the next one and other apps from this company!!!

For any VoiceOver users: this app is frustratingly inaccessible. Buttons are not labelled properly and immersion is pretty broken by the navigation issues for totally blind people. I say save your money. I wish someone had warned me.

I appreciate your efforts owing to the fact that Im blind. However I seem to think that the game interface is purposely made confusing to make it seem harder. My visually impaired friends: the interface buttons arent properly labeled. The game is pretty easy otherwise. I wont go as far as to say its a waste of time and money. It has a steep price but trust me: itll still buy your time. Overall, its not as immersive as what it claims to be.
